rapidweaver or dreamweaver?

Hi there
I'm looking at doing some very basic website stuff and was considering either rapidweaver or dreamweaver. Any comments? I've read that rapidweaver is much simplier. Thanks in advance.

Seriously, if you have the need and money for DW, then buy it.
Otherwise, buy RapidWeaver.

If you have to ask this question, then you probably should be outsourcing your web design to someone else anyway, but there you go.

No comparison. Rapidweaver is much simpler. You can just start using it and rely on its built-in templates.
Then you can customize everything, purchase a wide variety of site designs for $12 each, and just focus on content creation.

I found Dreamweaver somewhat like learning to use InDesign or Photoshop - plan on a month of just learning how to do things Adobe's way. While I write in InDesign, it is a fantastic program, and I survived the learning curve, I gave up on DreamWeaver. It may be a fantastic program, I don't know.

I found RW incredibly limiting. Sure, there are templates, but adding onto them is difficult. It seems as tho you have to continue to buy more add-ons just to do the basics.

I actually find iWeb far more flexible than RW. Check out some of these sites: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=181763&page=17

If you want to split the difference, you might look at Freeway, about $100, but full featured like DW.

Flux.

I've been using Flux, and it's excellent. It's a WYSIWYG editor, and it comes with several templates, so you can get started readily.

I've primarily used HomePage before, and this is the closest I've found--it's a bit over my head, but very doable for me. I have created a couple of website before, though. And I fiddled with GoLive.

There's also Coda, from Panic. If you own Transmit (their FTP app), I think you get a break on the price.
