Schedule M "making work pay" may be good for $400.00 if you have earned income. I think its the stimulus payment.

Its buried in the back (1040 - Line 63) under Payments and its easy to miss. They're not going to hold your hand and find it for you.

Actually most tax programs will hold your hand and ensure you take this and any other deductions you are entitled to. I happen to use TurboTax and it found the $550 deduction and applied it to my circumstances (up to $800 for couples less the $250 stimulus check received last year from the US Treasury) I assume the other programs TaxCut, etc will hold your hand as well.
