Clean Install as it Relates to iTunes and Audible Purchases
#1
I'm upgrading from 10.5 to 10.6 and as a geek clean freak, I'm planning on swiping my hard drive, installing a clean version of 10.6 and then Migrating my data from a back-up drive.

What's the impact on ownership of my Audible books and iTunes? Should I deauthorize the computer before I swipe and re-authorize after Migrate? Or is Migration Assistant "smart" and handles this stuff in the background?

Thanks,

Sam*

If you are using Migration Assistant then you really aren't getting a "clean" install. All of the junk, along with all of the associated files, you have installed on the old drive will be reinstalled on the new drive.

I did a clean install and then copied my itunes back into the hard drive. As for Audible, I let my purchases reside on audible server and just download the books as I need them.

Correct me if I'm wrong but if you store your iTunes Library on an Ext. drive and once do the
Clean Install and hold down the option key it will ask you to locate your Library. Won't all the
stuff then be loaded into iTunes, Apps and all?

I did the Migration thing once and you do wind with all the crap you had before.
