Budget woes force cops to parade in bunny suit to fine people for not yielding
#1
I guess they have to extract money from us in every inventive, yet sad like a tossed-aside college fling, somehow, right?

Ha, Glendale, CA my old 'hood! As always GPD never ever rests. Good place to live; not safe for driving, jogging, walking, strolling, any type of physical activity. Had more than a few misses while I was minding my own business on the sidewalk.

That is simply pathetic. But pretty much what we can expect from the police all across America today. Unfortunately IMO it's only gonna get worse.

The law probably says something about yielding to people...If I had gotten that ticket, I would plead that it was a rabbit-not a person.

Neighbor cops said they are ticketing for whatever they can. He exaggerated that they are ticketing for even 1 mph over the speed limit. Desperate times... I have seen more cops on the streets. Luckly for me, I know where they have their local speed traps and I drive the speed limit.

Last night, in a suburban area, busy commuter traffic, we saw our first ever cop on a bike. Crazy, for where he was.

Not a bit. Especially for pedestrians.

No, we can't, but I wish we could.

Not a bit unfortunate, but I wish it would get "worse". I want to see draconian traffic enforcement. Cry babies call it revenue generation; I call it being able to walk and cross streets safely, riding a bike or motorcycle and even driving a car safely.

I participate in all the above activities and see daily errant drivers who blindly and deliberately violate the right of way and safety of myself and many others who do choose to obey the rules of the road.

Given what happens to victims and how difficult it is to get traffic devices installed, cops giving tickets is a eminently acceptable option to me.

There are worse infractions and traffic crimes than 1MPH over the limit, and I would hope that enforcement is prioritized. (Most courts would not tolerate that much intolerance towards speeding, though.) But a lot of people believe they're *entitled* to speed by arbitrary limits they set for themselves, and deciding which traffic devices to obey or ignore.

I'm all for dispelling that belief.
