Question about iPhone/iPad application security
#1
A friend who has written a medical review book has approached me about writing an iPhone/iPad application to complement the book. He is very worried about piracy of his content.

I tried to assure him that it is difficult to pirate iTunes App store applications. I know there is probably something people can do with jailbreaking, etc., but how secure are these apps? If we package several 1000 pages of text, questions, answers, etc. into an app to sell, how secure is this information? Or could someone just hack into the app, extract the information and disseminate it? He's really worried about undercutting his book sales as a result of this type of perceived risk.

Thanks for the advice.

Theoretically, anything is possible. Your friend probably needs to know what's probable, instead.

so basically he's looking into selling an eBook, or how does Apple call these, iBooks?
