Oil spill- Back channel information blames BP .. even more

no link, no nothing. One of my uncles (now retired) was a Venture Capital guy out of Berkeley, CA. And was part of the group that financed the invention of the deep water drilling blowout preventer.

At a family get together he was angrily discussing the 'stupidity' of BP and their team. "They did it all wrong. It was never designed to be used in that fashion. These people are criminally stupid."

This is the Uncle I class as "brilliant". 4 years in the USAF. PhD. Worked for the CIA for a decade. Retired into Venture banking. Gazillionaire. Very good at knowing what he's talking about.

And, of course, can curse extensively in Russian, French, and German.

I think you'd be hard pressed to find many folks who don't believe that the bp people in charge of the rig weren't "criminally stupid."

That was the clear impression I got from the 60 Minutes interview of one of the survivors right after the blow-out.

It's all about profits.

Well, an exception is my Congresscritter, Michele Bachman, who claimed on the House floor that BP was the victim. I don't think she has any inside info, just a gut feeling based on knee jerk ideology.
