pretty cool - InstaDMG

http://code.google.com/p/instadmg/

InstaDMG creates clean, never-booted ASR images for deploying MacOS X. It uses Apple's native installers, package formats, and disk image frameworks. The current version is capable of producing 10.5 (tested to 10.5.8) and 10.6 (tested to 10.6.2) images while booted from those respective OSs.

The script is currently written in bash, but future version will move on to python.

Looks like it can also be used to deploy other software too that would normally require someone sit in front of the Mac or act as if they were (via Remote Desktop, etc.)

One example I saw on the forum there is where someone put together a pkg for deploying Office 2008 which included the handful of stuff each Mac would need to run, including the various .plist files that hold the serial and generic user info.
