Is this normal for an iPhone 4...?

I haven't restarted my MBP yet to do that but thanks for the suggestion.

Takes far less time and effort to double-tap and scroll to the app you want than it does to reboot. Keep in mind that you should't have to kill apps anyway, normally. A car charger is a given, as is nightly charges if you're not a light user. IF the app in question is functioning correctly (and pilot error isn't present) then increased battery life is part of the deal for that app.

Look at some of the jailbreak solutions for killing apps even faster, if you've got one you use everyday but not all day. At some point there's a delta between usefulness and tweakiness.

My iPhone 4 doesn't use much battery at all on standby. I leave locations services, 3G and Wifi on all of the time but I don't fetch mail or have notifications on ever and if I'm not using bluetooth I turn it off. Notifications, bluetooth and fetching mail are some of the biggest battery drainers when not using your phone. Games will always burn a battery quickly.
