Just received this email from Mac Consulting Unlimited:

"Joe,

Apple announced a brand new iLife software package (iPhoto, iDVD, iWeb, iMovie, GarageBand, etc.) on October 20th.

Because you purchased an Apple computer after 10/1/10, you qualify to receive this $49 update for $6.99 plus tax.""

Yeah, Boyee!!

I just got my disc yesterday in the mail from Apple for my discounted upgrade. My main usage was going to be the iPhoto upgrade but I'm hesitant to install it having since read all of the horror stories about lost photos, etc.

Congrats on the upgrade but you may want to research what you want to upgrade at this time (until an update).

I, too just got my iLife 11 disk for $6.99. I haven't tried it yet, but it is labeled as an upgrade. Perhaps this is to prevent it being sold as a retail product. And is actually a full install... but it might actually require the installation of the earlier iLife first. I hate the amount of extra time it takes to do a full install and then do what is another full install!

Shoot.. Apple can't find my iLife up-to-date fax order. I'll have to resend it. Anyone have success with submitting online?

I just spoke to Apple's status inquiry 888-840-8433 and they admitted problems with the online webpage as well.
