I downloaded the new iMovie through the app store since I didn't want the rest of the package. There is now an Apple update file available. I downloaded it- 27MB file, took <2 minutes. I double clicked the update and was promptly told that this version of iMovie can only be updated through the app store and that I should check the app store for an update.
OK, well I did. There is an update file available. I clicked on it. 590MB- what??? So I have to update a whole program rather than just a simple update file. So, I use more bandwidth and 23 minutes rather than <2. I don't understand the strategy of that one.
