More real-time rendering would be worth the upgrade to me. I'll be interested to see how it runs on a G5 system. My big horse is a G5 2.5 DP, which should be plenty, but I'll wait for now.

I see that there are some changes to keyframing.

I wonder if the zoom feature has been upgraded. In the previous version there was no control over how fast something zoomed. You could set the overall time from start to stop, but not the speed of the zoom. And it was not linear. A zoom in would go faster at the end than it did at the beginning. I think it zooms at a constant percent or something like that, which makes for an exponential size zoom rate over time. Made for some weird looking effects.
