Happy father's day from this dad to all the forumite dads. Have a wonderful day! I'm drinking some Dad's Root Beer made with cane sugar in honor of the day (and seeing that I'm at work and can't imbibe anything of a stronger sort). It was a gift from my wife and daughter!

then there are those of us who have taken it upon ourselves to help raise someone else's kids, and we don't get any appriciation or recognition, while their deadbeat dad gets accolades for how his kids are becoming fine young men, when he begrudgingly spends MAYBE 4 days a month with them. MAYBE 4 days.

Racer I have a friend in the same situation as you. Perhaps you don't get the recognition at home but rest assured your friends, and I, admire your sacrifice and commitment.
