Can I use a set of bluetooth headphones with my last gen ipod touch? My daughter has really gotten into listening to music and watching movies using headphones. But the cord is just getting caught on everything so i thought bluetooth headphones might be the answer. But I've never even tried bluetooth on the touch and don;t even know if it has it to be honest.

The iPod Touch has bluetooth:

The only trouble I ever had getting an iPod or iPhone sending out audio to a bluetooth device was not being able to find the ID code to pair to the bluetooth receiver on the external device. I had to dig through the mfg. website to find the code. Other than that little hiccup, it worked great.

yes, but sometimes the microphone ones don't work well, and the mono cell phone ones don't always work.

I don't think those would work for a 4 year old.

I found the same as decay. When our kids were little we had some kids' infrared headphones with a transmitter we plugged into our TV. Also had one for use with a small TV in the car. It's the same system that car video systems use now. That brand isn't available, but there are other kid's IR headphones available.
Cheap ones at Wal-Mart;

a bit more expensive ones at Amazon

The problem is that all of the transmitters I could find are relatively bulky and require an A/C adapter.
I looked to see if anyone made an IR transmitter for the iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad, but all that I could find were geared to working as a remote control, not for sending audio. (Makes me wonder if one of these could transmit audio if someone wrote an app for that.) The closest I found is an enclosure for mounting an iPad in a car which contains an IR audio transmitter.
Looks to me like a niche that's being missed.
Good luck.
