Outposts 500Gb HD pricing fluctuates like Airline Prices!
#1
Still waiting for the trained chimps that work the local DHL to deliver my $179 500Gb PATA Seagate HD.

I happened to check the CURRENT price on them...
Up over A HUNDRED AND TEN DOLLARS to $299.99 now...

If DHL loses or kills my hard drive, I'm gonna beat the crap out of the driver (unless it's a she, and hot... of course...).

Price fluctuations I get.. .even reasonably large ones..
But from a sale price of $179 to $299?

Wow...

Is Outpost buying on the margin?

I haven't been watching Fry's ads, so I don't know if I could have had quicker gratification.

I got an email today at 0300PDT saying it shipped, but there was no tracking number as yet.

The ad for Fry's here on Sunday listed the 500gb Maxtor for 189, I haven't looked to see if that's changed as of yet.

Yesterday evening, the Maxtor 300GB SATA was $80 shipped, no rebates. Today morning it went up to $140. WTH?

When you consider how long it takes just to fly a person to McKinleyville, a package could take weeks … (next time pop for the 2-Day - it was only $9 more)

Ah, you misunderstand...
According to their tracking.. it's sitting there (8 miles from my house) RIGHT NOW.. not on a plane on it's WAY there.
Been there since 8am yesterday AM.

And as per the usual of the trained monkeys working for out local delivery outfit, that means it's only 3-4 days from actually getting ON the truck for delivery.

I HATE our local DHL contractor...

I must've lucked out for once. Mine showed up a day and half after ordering. It was like the Outpost of yesteryear.
