For those of you with an older iPhone (2g, 3g) this is THE firmware to have. Every optimization you can think of, better battery life, plus folders, multitasking, and ios5 look (though it's really 3.1.3).

In the instructions it reads: "Click on Restore holding ALT (MacOS) or SHIFT (Windows) at the same time..."

I'd be a little leery about this since my Windows computer has an Alt key but my Mac does not.

I think most Mac keyboards are labeled with "alt" in the corner on the "option" key. My MBP and Logitech Mac keyboard both do.

My Apple keyboard has 'alt'. Whited00r is legit. Sheesh.

i've had no luck installing on my 3G. getting 16xx errors.

probably can't downgrade to 3.1.3; currently it's at iOS 4.2.1.

next thing to try is putting the iPhone in DFU mode.

i tried Blackra1n and another tool to force it into that mode; no go.
