Well, now we know why Bob McDonnell couldn't be Romney's VP pick

The Virginia gov is having a very bad week...he took unreported gifts from a donor for over $120K, he and wife helped that guy promote his business, the same guy helped pay for his daughters' weddings, the family has been reimbursing the state for items it "borrowed" from the governor's mansion to furnish other family homes...and today, the Gov's 21 year old son was arrested for drunk and disorderly.

and oh yeah, McDonnell is a social conservative much-holier-than-thou graduate of Pat Robertsons' Regents University...he clearly got the part about taking away women's rights but must have been absent for the financial and personal ethics classes.

Oh, Governor Forced Vaginal Ultrasound, one of the generals in the "War On Women" was disqualified for other reasons? Edit: sorry, I had forgotten that there are now several that can be referred to as Governor Forced Vaginal Ultrasound.

His wife, who seems to be the one with her hand out to this "donor," is a former Washington Redskins cheerleader. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

McDonnell is allegedly under criminal investigation by the FBI over allegations that he and his family received a number of expensive gifts from a vitamin/diet supplement company Star Scientific executive Jonnie R. Williams Sr.. Those gifts are said to total more than 145,000, including a $6,500 Rolex watch for McDonnell, a $15,000 Oscar de la Renta gown for his wife Maureen McDonnell, $15,000 in catering for the wedding of McDonnell's daughter, $70,000 to a corporation owned by McDonnell and his sister, and $50,000 in a check to McDonnell's wife. [213] None of these gifts were reported in the governor's annual financial filings and shortly after some of the gifts were exchanged Williams made a presentation to top state health officials in a meeting arranged by Maureen.[214] Delegate David Ramadan confirmed that he was called to a grand jury in what is assumed to provide testimony on this subject.[215]

In June 2013, McDonnell and his wife were the subject of a critical Washington Post article detailing their improper spending at the Governor's Mansion, for items such as energy drinks, dog food, and a "detox cleanse". In their defense, a spokesman explained that energy drinks were a standard part of their breakfast routine.[216] McDonnell reimbursed the state of Virginia $2,400 for food taken from the mansion by his children

resignation coming soon??
