iTunes shows about a dozen "hidden" (free) purchases I didn't make
#1
So, in the process of restoring my Apple TV I see there is a way to "unhide" purchases made via iTunes. I'm curious about it so I do it and I immediately see about a dozen of tracks I did not knowingly download or at least I don't recall it. There is really nothing in the list I would even consider listening to, let alone buy. I don't recall ever seeing the follow-up email from Apple that lists purchases made that would have included this items. I've also done a search in my mail and only known purchases show up in the receipt emails. 99.99999% sure I was never charged for them

Anyone have any ideas how they ended up on my computer and in my acct.? I'm the sole person that has access to the iTunes acct and unless I did it in my sleep, I have no idea how they got there. Weird.

Years ago, there was a "Free Song of the Day" on iTunes. That free song giveaway went on for a long time. I DL many of them. Virtually all of them were from artists you'd never heard of. I doubt I could ever remember DLing them all these years later. I don't even know what HD those DLs are on now.

I've seen some of the free song of the day/week type things and have tried a one or two of them. None of these seem to have come from there.

Was just weird. Seemed like they were auto-downloaded at some point and I just assumed you'd have to opt in for something like that.

I believe there are songs that are already seeded on iCloud. I have them too. Google Play has a bunch of them.

Suppose you were a Mac user that signed up for iCloud only you have a single song in iTunes, which is probably plenty of people. This way there'd be songs to show off iTunes and iCloud. Even my phones come with some pre-loaded songs.
