Electricity from renewable sources is relatively expensive.
So it's a bad idea to throw away 50% of the energy during electrolysis to hydrogen then another 50% converting the hydrogen back to electricity via a fuel cell. It would be much more efficient to build a massive battery bank (some towns at the end of transmission lines already have these)
