My son reads on one of his toys: "Made in China?" then says "I definitely need to go to China! China invents everything!"

POMTL, I need to explain to him that most stuff is actually invented and designed here in USA and then made in China.

Uh, let's hope it stays that way. Not too long ago, most things were designed AND made in the USA.

Not really.

Chinese imports account for something like 3% of total U.S. consumption.

...But it's probably closer to 90% if you stick to the category "cheap junk."
