many cramps are heat and/or electrolyte balance-related. Potassium and magnesium are a common cures. That is why triathletes/marathon bikers and runners scarf down bananas during and after races. That and they are portable, not terribly messy, and relatively cheap, and very easy to digest. They are also knows an "K-sticks" for the potassium content.
I talked to my wife about your questions after the last batch, and if you have any more, send me a PM, and I will pass them on. She is more than happy to help, even though you have one of them "funny" bikes....

There is no sense in trying to work through a crap if its causing you a good deal of pain.
This gets my vote for Typo of the Day.

Sounds like a cramp in the feet. Not much you can do, and unless it happens regularly, not much you can do. Raisens might go down easier than eating a banana, but a little food on long rides is required.
I have never ridden a recumbant. Looks fun. So these are just ideas off the top of my head. What kind of shoes are you wearing? Are you clipped in? Stiff soled biking shoes may help reduce pressure/flexing on your toes. Your inner thigh pain, if it occurs regularly, may be related to bowing your knees out slightly and/or the amount of peddle spread (check if this is adjustable at all). The amount of leg extension could also be related here, so maybe going a 1/4 inch longer might be worth a try. Your outer muscles on your quads are probably much more powerful than your inner muscles, so the inner quads could just be wearing out and need to build up too.

Hey Racer X,
I will take up your offer! Do tell your wife that I appreciate any advices she can toss my way.
"funny" bikes, heh? I don't ride as often or rack up much mileage as I should. Still, I am able to keep up the paces on the even surfaces with those upright bike riders and, guess what, I SMOKE'm on the downhills
