Do NOT go scouting craigslist or ebay for Magnepan and Accuphase vintage equipment. Oh, so many shining things...
I own a few pieces. Would like more.
Accuphase E-202 Integrated Amplifier
Bought in high school, rebuilt in college, going strong 40+ years later.
Accuphase T-101 FM tuner, sold with the above mentioned amplifier as a set.
Bought non-working, rebuilt after college
Accuphase C-200 pre-amp, purchase by my father in the 70's and given to me a few years ago.
Accuphase P-300 amplifier, also a gift from my father
Accuphase T-101 FM & AM Tuner, found after receiving amp and pre-amp from dad, this was a set originally.

Black those speakers are beautiful. No idea what they are but very nice looking.
wild Eep, just what kind of pictures are you asking for miley-music039:
It's weird to wake up and see what I posted after a night on pain killers. A few pics of vintage audio gear is pretty tame I guess. At least I didn't post my warehouse full of vintage cars. Oops, let the cat out of the bag didn't i?

I haven't looked at high-end gear in years but I remember Accuphase, Phase Liner, brushed gold and brushed aluminum panels of yore.
Other gear with huge VU meters, large volume and tuning knobs with a silky, dampened feel, massive chassis with real heft, beautiful wood cases or end panels...
And speakers with gorgeous wood finishes. I may, before I die, get a pair of truly fine speakers, the kind that make the hair on your arms stand on when you hear a sting bass or violin, or the shimmer of cymbals.
I've still got some Marantz gear of that era. Not their greatest stuff, but quite good. And a Sony receiver from back when they actually cared about making a decent product.
Audio pron.

I read the audio file forum on fark all the time. There is one dedicated to older equipment and I would say Marantz is by far the most popular brand there. So you probably have truly great audio equipment

Thiel Audio loudspeakers, fantastic stuff. They're based in Lexington, Kentucky and have been around for well over 20 years. Great people, very friendly and down to earth.

my goal is to keep the cost of my system at $1000 total. as of today, I'm slightly over that, owing not to the awesome Sony ES CDP I found for $12 (yes), but to the $250 I just plunked down for an external DAC for my iMac listening.
that's how I play the game, anyway. maybe I'll raise the limit to $2000, but without some arbitrary limit, the "game" of audio gets real expensive, real fast.

rebuilding another Accuphase P300? I have owned since 1975, but it started being "wonky" about 10 years ago. I also have the T-100 and C-200 to accompany it.
Really great equipment. My ESS AMT 3 Rock Monitors are awesome with them pushing the power.
