Which old larger 10" Advent woofers will fit the 5002 model?

My friend is looking for another set of Advent 5002 speakers so he can stack them. The 5002s are much harder to find than the Original Large Advents, but I found a pair - except they have Radio Shack woofers.

The price is right, though, so I thought we could get some old woofers off of ebay and replace the foam if they needed it. But, I don't know how to tell if they will fit specifically the 5002s.

Here's one with specs from Parts Express. Note the reviews that the holes don't line up, but that's an easy putty and pre-tap fix.

Thanks, Artie. Now that you've stuck your neck out, would you know of cheaper tweeters and crossovers that match the old large Advents? I would love to be able to more easily restore bargains or even build some from scratch that sound "good enough."

Some of the replacement woofers such as the ones from Madisound or Simply Speakers may be a match. But those generics from Parts Express won't be.

Google also found some here but the bargains might be ones that need foam you replace yourself. Right now there appear to be two auctions like that: http://www.ebay.com/bhp/advent-woofer

I'd be similarly cautious about swapping in any non-identical tweeter. Concentrate on original and used for these Advents, not something that just fits in the cabinet. That's a waste of time and money, unless all you care about is the "look" of the thing. As it is, some low-cost modern speakers will improve upon these classics in some key areas.

As for the crossover, you can build those yourself with a soldering iron and the individual replacement caps and resistors and actually create a better (more accurate) one than the original.

and them old crossovers probably have dried out caps as well.

Pyle Drivers,I put a set in my large Advents and they rock!

Been years and they're still good, in less than ideal conditions in my shop, read, no heat in winter 100+ in summer.

Well, it turns out that someone routed out the woofer hole bigger to make the Radio Shake speakers fit, so we're calling off the dogs. My friend is still on a quest for Double Advents since he heard his and mine together. (I estimated that the sound was 50% better than one pair alone.)

I have a couple extras I need to refoam but haven't gotten around to doing it.
