holy crap, it works.

it didn't seem speedy but that might have been a dns issue. some pages were very slow to load then BAM! Loaded!

right for the price.

Mine works here in the boonies, just not so great when tested in DC.

I'll try again on my next trip.

I'm in an area with very good 3G & 4G signals but, I could NOT get my refurb FreedomPop MiFi to work.

Sad

My Late 2011, 17" MBP running 10.8.5 did NOT like the software either. I'll try it on 10.9

What device is it? I got a refurb MiFi 4082 via the Groupon deal a few weeks ago. I'm having some mixed results with it.

My biggest problem is that all of their documentation says that the web interface device configuration pages will show that it's a Sprint device. The refurb that I received is an Xfinity / Comcast device. I also had problems where 4G was unusable in an area that I know has strong 4G availability, it couldn't connect, would switch back to 3G, then notice 4G was available try to connect, fail, and repeat forever, making it unusable. Setting it to prefer 3G made it usable.

I called FreedomPop yesterday, they said they would email me directions for some things to try to resolve this, and made it sound like one thing would be pressing the hard reset button with a paper clip. But I never got an email from them and will need to call back Friday.

Today I tried the factory reset switch since they most likely would have asked me to try that, and it still has the Xfinity user interface (I really think it will take a firmware re-flash to fix that), but I was able to get 4G to work reliably. But I have also noticed that their web accounting is not showing any of my usage for the past 5 days (if this means unlimited data because they never deduct from my allotment, I won't complain).

I also can't seem to "Give data" to my other freedompop account, no error message, just the web page goes into a dimmed state, and no data is transferred into/out of either account.

When I had some issues with my "new" Overdrive, I got a faster response from their Customer Service on their Facebook page than through their website. The battery in mine wasn't charging. They shipped me a new battery right away and I got it 3 days later.
