Any value in Apex 600a DVD Player, or Replay TV 5040?

I think that is the model on the replay tv.

I suppose since everything is digital, that the replay tv is next to useless.

Let me know before I clean out my garage and take these to good will or Viet Vets Thrift store, along with a Viewsat Dish Network receiver and stuff like that.

Thanks

I sold my last Apex (new in the box, I had a nice run of buying them from Circuit City, marking up and selling on eBay in 2000) at a garage sale last year for $10.

The Replay, what a great product in its day, but not much market for SD DVRs any more, sadly. It'll still work fine if hooked up to a cable or satellite box, but only for standard definition, and it's an HD world now. You might get $20-30 for it on eBay if has lifetime authorization. I have three of them stacked up in my closet right now...

I have a Replay TV 5040 and 5504 (both with LIfetime and hard drives upgraded to a whopping 160GB) also sitting, powered down, in my media closet. A couple months ago, I re-downloaded DVArchive and copied the shows I wanted to keep onto my media-center computer. Both systems powered up, connected to the servers, and seemed to work fine. They were configured for Comcast and we now have U-verse, but there were actually settings for that.

I've thought about listing them on eBay, but have never gotten around to it.

Ditto. I have two upgraded 5040s, one with lifetime. They are beautiful machines, with features far superior to anything on the market today (if you don't count HD) that are now only useful as doorstops AFAIK.
