I propose a dead-man switch app tied to the accelerometers in our various gears. If we ever stop moving for more than X hours, the app alerts the forum.

And on that note, I know he's probably alive and well, but I think it's unfortunate that lafinfil disconnected from this forum.

Agreed. LOL, the deadman switch occurred to me, too. "If you're reading this…" Or having a survivor post for you? I wouldn't bother with either. Not to mention any kind of "tracking". Some forums indicate when you're online. That's far more than enough for me.
