Some thoughts on the iPod and Labor in China
#11
As a follow-up to this very interesting discussion, may I suggest that those of you with access to the Sundance Channel plan to record the eye-opening documentary "Mardi Gras: Made in China" on Aug. 28th at 1pm and again at 10:30PM (times are ET/PT).

Particularly given pRon's insightful comment, the documentary will give you a REAL look into the lives of Chinese workers of all types.

I have not had a chance to see that documentary yet but from what I understand it is a brutally honest look of what is going on over there. Some companies such as Apple have a code of conduct but I doubt many other companies do. I hope Apple stays on top of this.

so, for those of us who don't have the Sundance channel, how does one get to see documentaries such as this? netflix doesn't have it. neither does my local library. i doubt it's at my blockbuster, either.

ask the library to buy it, and tell them why it would be a good selection for the community?

that's a good suggestion but i was hoping to be able to see this before the end of this decade. my library is slow to move on things.
