It's not all that cold out, just trying to dry out mud.
But it has been damp rainy wet and cool and the heat is turned off in this room to replace the sheet rock and replace windows.

I lit my Pellet Stove for the first time last Tuesday - just the one time.
Our low temps are still in the mid to low fifties so it will be a few more days before I fire it up again. ![]() northern california coast

are you staying old school to match the rest of the house and getting plastered?
btw, what kind of stove? do you recommend it? I'm still looking around for a fireplace insert, at this point just want to order it and get the flue and get started.

I've torn the suspended ceiling out, replaced the drywalled ceiling, ripped the ugly panelling out and then added 3/8" sheetrock over what was there. Replaced the windows at the same time. The rest of the house has had Pella aluminum clad casements put in and now these match those. mrbigstuff wrote: True North TN19 is made by Pacific Energy. It's an entry level stove -plain steel. It burns nice and clean , but the Summit or the Super ( I forget which has the better longer burn control system. and might burn for an hour longer. From what I've read of inserts you either have a large enough fireplace to put a regular wood stove or compromise with an insert and you start with the dimensions of the fireplace and see what stove will actually fit. Supposedly you get more heat out of a real box stove in a fireplace ( if you have room ) than an insert.

I lit our fireplace stove for the first time this morning when it was upper 40's. I really like that first fire each year.
