help needed with ichat

My kids use AOL IM (unfortunately). It runs like cr*p on our intel iMac. I want them to use iChat.

Here's the rub... They are addicted to the many away messages that they have saved and use daily. Is there an easy way to save multiple away messages in iChat and pick and choose which one to use?

Is there any free/sharware that will give iChat the added features of AIM?

When you have the buddy list open, right below your name it shows your away message and there is a triangle there. When you click on it you can choose another or make them up and save them.

Also, download and install Chax (free) until Leopard gets here with its advanced iChat features.

Didn't know that about iChat. Not quite simple enough for dad I guess. OK, I'll try to sell em on that.

I also downloaded adiumX and it works real smooth, hope they like one or the other.

I hope to never have to run a peice of AOL software again...pure cr*p
