"The Internet is busted"... finally diagnosed
#1
We've been having intermittent issues with broadband in the cbelt3 household for months. A Netgear router was the prime suspect. And after checking logs (finally) and taking ownership of it (finally), I was able to diagnose it....

To the TWC Domain Name Server / local router. Which seemed to reset itself ever day at about 1-2 AM.

I reset my DNS server settings to Google's, and 'poof'.... no problems since then.

I use another DNS server also, noticed the problem when I first signed up with TWC.

Yes, you still have problems—google is now tracking every single move you make on the Internet.

Use OpenDNS instead:

208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
