Do watches spontaneously pop off people's wrists often?
No they usually stay attached when they impact concrete.
The body attached to it often ends up in the hospital.

I don't understand these videos. Do people make so much money from YouTube vids that it off-sets the cost of the watch? Or is it a narcissistic need to have a bunch of people watching one do something stupid?

Yes, they can make good money on YouTube. But you got to give people what they want. There are YouTube Tech Stars. Apple exclusive people live in a bubble.
Yep, enough people are making great money on YouTube. This video will pay for itself and then some. (Full disclosure, haven't watched it.)

The Sport Watch has Ion Glass (reported to be similar to Gorilla Glass) and the Watch and Edition get sapphire crystals.

That was painful to watch. I had to shut it off.
I received a notification about my Watch today and got excited that it shipped...until I actually read the email telling me it's expected to ship in 3-5 weeks. Nothing I already didn't know. Sad
