USB Wifi N adapter works on G3 iBook
#1
My old USB Wifi gave up the ghost, so I tried an Edimax EW-7811Un adapter it works! Amazed Edimax had drivers for OSX 10.4 for my 2002 era 700 MHz G3 iBook. I'm cruising along with Camino 2.1.2 with iTunes playing in the background on this computer with 384 MB.

Keep that old tech chugging along.

I just ordered the EW-7811utc (same model?) for a cheese grater Mac Pro that went to 10.10 and lost the ability to use the Newer Tech USB wifi dongle due to lack of drivers.

Yeah, I had success with the same adapter on a 500 MHz G3 iBook. I needed something with WPA2-PSK support since the internal AirPort card doesn't support it. It uses a Realtek chipset, and there are OS X 10.4 drivers (but nothing earlier) available for several of them:

I would not exactly describe the browsing speed as "cruising along".

I agree - more like walking on the sidewalk as you watch the cars cruise by Confusedmiley-laughing001:
