PSA: When standing on the sideline, DO NOT stare at the Jumbotron

Model,

That's fine. I never had an issue with the idea that he wasn't paying attention to the action in front of him. I took issue with the assumption he was watching the jumbotron, when his attention could have been on any number of things.

Ok, I am not 100% sure he is staring at the Jumbotron that is nearly the size of a football field. He is looking upward as several people back up and one runs but he stays stationary until he is acted upon by a 200+ lb. football player at a high rate of speed.

To add insult to injury, the player leaped to avoid the 30 yard marker that resulted in the collision.

I suggest that he keep his eye on the field action in the future. I hope he was not seriously injured. It is a good reminder to be aware of one's surroundings at a sporting event.

And yet he has the gall to have a look of disgust on his face

He looked more stunned/surprised to me than disgusted.

Nobody brought up the possibility that he might be blind? There could have been a lot more controversial commentary!! I will stick with my 80% rule - more likely than not that the huge screen was the distraction. And yes, people at all sporting events should pay attention, that is why I put my kids between me and home plate, I can watch them and the play.

Similar point: If you are not on the return team, do not try and catch the kickoff:
