It's probably a mouse, just give it time, it found it's way in, it will find it's way back out, or it will explore until it finds some other large area like an attic or garage (or inside your house).

Fat chance! It's never "a" mouse. If you have mice or rats you need to take active measures to get rid of them before they start destroying your wiring, insulation, etc. .

Step 1: Figure out where they're getting in. They only need very small gaps.

Step 2: Set out traps to either catch/release or kill. I've used both types. The key is to set them properly...always with the business end against the wall, never in open areas (mice/rats run along the walls, not out in the open).

Step 3: Plug the openings. Brass or copper wool is best since they won't chew through it and it won't rust.

We get an occasional chipmunk, that find their way through the hose bib opening crack outside. I *think* I re-caulked it enough to deter them from entering. For the time being...

They make a hell of a racket scratching in there!

Put some traps out along your foundation. It may take a few days, but you should get something. Peanut butter with black sunflowers works very well. I use my birdseed which is heavy with black birdseed.
