I have Googled every word or phrase that I can think of for this thing and can't come up with squat!

Any of you peeps that have been around Apple stuff from the begining have any insight or experience with LoDown equipment?

Well, I never actually used tape drives this old before, and I certainly haven't heard of 'LoDown'. Have you researched using the address from the photo on the back of the case?

"PO Box 5146, Pleasanton, CA 94566"

Does this guy think he's gonna sell it for $500?

We had some of these tape drives at an aerospace firm I worked for in the '80's, horrible. The power supply could heat a small NY apartment in the dead of winter.
The tape mechanism was finicky and error-prone. The software was even worse, I think they wrote it in house, in basic, real, real slow.
Crap then.
Old crap now.
