I know a lot of artists who prefer the Surface Pro to an iPad or a Mac with a tablet. It sits propped on a desk in tablet-mode most of the time, not lot of lifting so that's not much of an issue.

MS clearly understands that artists are a big part of their base for this product, thus the advanced stylus.

...And it does compete directly with the iPad Pro. Apple sends me marketing questions periodically and one of the things they keep digging at is how well the iPad Pro does as a laptop-replacement.

This is an interesting product. Becoming a true cross between a 2016 MBP and an iPad Pro.

Will Microsoft make windows more touch savvy with good software faster than Apple can make an iPad Pro a full-fledged computer? We will see.
