Regardless of what Apple does, the cost of TB peripherals needs to come down drastically if Intel hopes to see the standard widely adopted and used.

The only way peripheral prices are going to come down is if people start buying them in mass quantities, and cutting licensing fees is the beginning of that process.

Just accept that for the foreseeable future, a certified 20 Mbps cable is going to cost $30 from a major retailer.
