Bottom line - Apple sold MORE iPhones and at HIGHER prices while increasing the install base 30% to 1.3B units.
And older iPhones are not sitting in too many drawers - their resale value puts them back into the system as used iPhones.
I can concur that starting with the 5S models, my family has repurposed nearly all iPhones at least once. And they tend to last 4+ years.
I've seen plenty of Android users switch to iPhones - far more than in reverse.
I like my iPX too - but my wife REALLY likes her SE (she was so excited to get a good replacement for her failing 5S that was not a 'huge iPhone').
If Apple begs off from adding features = bugs and, instead, makes an OS that just makes 1.3B people happy, I think they will do well.
