First time I really thought, 'that makes me feel old'

The first time I heard myself say, 'Turn that noise down'. I heard distant echos...

Oddly enough, I said that on Saturday at a bridge game where I'm one of the youngest people in the room (not saying much). There was a radio in the kitchen that was mostly blasting static, and I couldn't concentrate.

I may have been the only one in the room who could hear it.

The other side of the coin is that my partner's grown kids think that the truck radio blasting Ozzy is too loud most of the time.

What to they know.

When the grandkids came over and got excited about the rotary phone we were using. They just had to call somebody every time they came over. Interesting that they knew the number to dial! For that matter grandson #1 got excited about my Marantz cassette player.

First occurrence was seeing the ANTIQUE license plate on a VW bug.

Next was when I was administering AP exams for the school district. The international science fair was in town and I included those kids in my test rooms. One girl did not have her AP book with that year's particular number so she called her counselor back home. I did not even have access to a phone let alone one readily at hand. The very thought of calling school back home told me where I was in the scheme of things.

I'm jolted when I see commercials on TV that have background music from 60s rock groups. When I was listening to the radio back then, the music was the reason. I never thought that one day that music would be just background for ads.

I remember when Orwell's 1984 was far in the future.

That's true for everyone no matter how old they are.

When I turned on an "oldies" radio station and heard 80s music....

Confusedmiley-laughing001:I'm not quite there, but I sent a pic of Modern English "Melt With You" playing on the oldies station to my sister!

I did get a little down when I heard Pearl Jam on the Classic Rock Station!
