......the official trailer.....

‘Incredibles 2’ Trailer: Mom Fights Crime, Dad Battles Homemaking & ‘Cheers’ Barfly Threatens The World

.......There’s an “elephant in the room” at the Parr family dinner that kicks off this new trailer for Incredibles 2 from Disney/Pixar: mother’s got a new job, leaving dad to a Mr. Mom role – and he’s anything but super at it.

That’s the set-up for this nicely done trailer, which neatly balances the Parr family domestic comedy – baby Jack-Jack’s fledgling superpower presents dad Bob (aka Mr. Incredible) with some literally fiery challenges – and fast-paced action as mom Helen (Elastigirl) battles the new (well, new-ish) villain The Underminer.

The new bad guy is voiced by John Ratzenberger, best known as know-it-all Cliff from Cheers, bringing this movie loads of experience at antagonizing. Other character voicing is provided by Holly Hunter (Elastigirl) and Craig T. Nelson (Mr. Incredible). The kids are Sarah Vowell (Violet) and Huck Milner (Dash).

The Parr’s neighbor and ally Frozone is voiced by Samuel L. Jackson, who gets the trailer’s funniest moment at the end.

The film is written and directed by Brad Bird and produced by John Walker and Nicole Grindle. Bird directed the first Incredibles, which won the 2004 Oscar for best animated feature and grossed more than $633 million worldwide, per Disney/Pixar.

Disney/Pixar’s Incredibles 2 hits theaters nationwide on June 15. Check out the new trailer above.

I have to admit I cannot wait to see this movie. I really liked the original Incredibles.

Looks good. We just re-watched the original last week, very entertaining although at least I could tell the modeling of the characters is becoming outdated.

I'm filled with dread that they're going to screw it up...
But filled with excitement at more of the Incredibles.
Hands down, my favorite animated movie of all time (though Wall E is AWFULLY close behind!).

I like 99% of the Pixar stuff a lot, but The Incredibles was really, really good. Holly Hunter did a good job with the cockpit chatter. The whole movie was a lot of fun.

I really like Cars, but was disappointed with Cars 2. Wall E was also pretty incredible. I really like that there was no spoke words for the first 20min or so. Great mood and character development.

It feels a little like Pixar became less Pixar and more Disney. I enjoy animation, but Disney has been pretty hit and miss, with more misses for me, for years. It's not about the supposed politics of Disney animations. It's mainly that they have a really hard time telling an interesting story.

It's all about the merchandizing. I don't mind that if I get a good movie out if it, first.

Like UP. No speaking in the first 5 minutes, but we all lived a lifetime of happiness, pain and sorrow. The movie could have ended there and would have felt I got my moneys worth.

Cars 3 is better.

Holly has previous cockpit chatter experince...

Film looks great. Trailer is a bit a nonsensical.

Agreed 100%! I forgot about that. What amazing story telling in those first few minutes! I go to matinees almost exclusively. Even with just a few people in the audience, I could hear some sniffling. Really well done. I've got it on the Drobo, time to watch it again. Thanks for the reminder, jdc. I'll check out Cars 3.

Trailer is a bit a nonsensical.

I usually avoid the trailers of movies I think/know I'll want to see. It gives me a little more enjoyment knowing absolutely as little as possible about a good movie as I sit down in my favorite seat. Trailers are usually shown as a mis-mash and I like that because it helps me forget them and when the Disbelief Balloon go up, everything is seen for the first time.

Looking forward to it. Also one of my favorite animated movies. Although the wife and I are suckers for The Iron Giant.
