Broke the glass on my iPhone-suggestions
#1
after 9 years, it finally happened yesterday. The phone went airborne and made a most horrible sound upon impact. My iPhone 7 still works, but I need a new screen.

I don't want to do it myself, as my fine motor skills are still a bit off.

Any suggestions on good repair places, short of Apple prices?

Thanks

Almost every mall in the country has a kiosk that will do this for you at reasonable cost.

but if you get real problems with the phone later, apple may refuse to work on it if it has 3rd party glass on it. I would ask apple how much they want before I dismiss them.

apple wont refuse it, but if the third party display fails, you may end up paying again to have it done right (by apple). the biggest off-brand failure tends to be loss of touch id/home button and colors (esp whites) that are off. ymmv.

just was looking at prices. Apple charges $129. Three of the local places, $119.

Obviously with such a little difference in price, I'll be making a reservation at the Genuis Bar....

I did the mall kiosk thing. Came out well, and two years later still good.
Cost $70 bucks where I live in Western MA. YMMV
