Faulty Powerbeats Pro earphones
#1
So I ordered the Powerbeats Pro - Totally Wireless Earphones - Black - $249.95 from the Apple store. They arrived a few days later and out of the box, did not work. Only the right ear would have sound.

I thought, I must be doing something wrong, so I read the manual, hmm. Basic. Tried again. Went through the resetting process recommended. No luck. Reset one more time, and then they worked the next day. I really liked them. Put them in their case to charge overnight, and the next day, only one ear had sound, again. FINALLY I realized there is a flaw, a minor electrical flaw, in the Powebeats.

I do hours a day of phone sessions, and as needed switch between two pairs of AirPods. So I am familiar with how these work.

From inside the Apple Store app, I called Apple and then gave them my Apple ID. I said, "Apple has a problem. My new Powerbeats arrived defective. That may mean that there is a whole production run that is defective. You should have FedEx come and pick them up immediately and have Apple engineers find out what's wrong."

"Do you have a receipt?" she asked.
"What do you mean, do I have a receipt. I ordered them from YOU. Apple emailed me a receipt."
"Do you have a receipt," she asked again.
"Look, I am sitting here surrounded by Apple products that always work, they just work. You sent me a defective product. The LAST thing Apple needs right now is to be sending out defective products. Apple needs to instantly find out what's wrong with these Powerbeats and stop shipment of defective ones. I am trying to help you."

So then of course, they sent me a box, but then I had to pack them up and find a FedEx store to drop it off at.

This is interesting because it shows how superior Amazon is in customer service. I once had a defective monitor and it took about 30 seconds to have it replaced - Amazon sent the UPS guy to my door with a new one and picked up the defective one.

I returned mine - big battery drain issue. If you don't store them in the case (where it constantly charges them), the battery drops like 5 to 10% per hour
