I can't say I'm surprised that the drug companies making opiates don't want to find a cure for addiction and cut their sales.

I recall reading that at least one of the manufacturers was planning to also get into the rehab business. That takes some serious hubris.

Perfect business model. Feed the addiction. Then cure it—but not completely. And endless loop of revenue!
