surfed over to the Apple website to see what was in the refurbs & surprise!
Trash Cans all gone?

A clever marketing ploy?

maybe they're recycling the remaining stock and turning them into new ones?

Our sponsor has some refurbs. I almost bought one but had some issues at the time finding a PCIe chassis that wasn’t $900. for one card and passed on an 8 core. Since then our sponsor’s prices have been climbing steadily and are a bit overpriced, IMHO, but I guess if the market supports it then it’s understandable.
There are plenty of reasonably priced trash cans on eBay if you need one.

Over priced? We're a lot less than Apple has (had) them on their refurb store.... and have really good prices on the D300 used units and same goes for the D500 units that are all Apple Refurb complete and either come with Apple 1yr or OWC 1yr warranty depending on how custom configured.

What's mainly gone up have been some of the processors and that's affected prices. We ran out of a couple of the popular speeds and they had a higher cost on restock - so that reorder some stuff. Compared to Apple refurb, the 12-core pricing we're doing is a bargain.

But for sure - all higher than 2 months ago. No offense taken, etc. Smile

OWC Larry, no offense intended. My comment merely implied the value of the trash cans to me, personally, cost-wise. And if you note, I’m the one that actually suggested buying from you, if the OP needed one. Confusedmiley-gen013:

Totally all good... and I did notice prices are up a bit - part of that also due to being sold out of some lower condition grade units... perfect units functionally with various cosmetics that aren't bad - but not excellent or like new.

We have 4 grading levels... and what's left now are all units in the best, like new condition- including units too that are actual Apple like new refurbs.

Onward we go. I think we'll start to see some much better trash can deals by early 2020..... my hunch and/or hope. Smile

thanks!!!
