In my experience, it's really hard to get lower than about $30/month/line (plus taxes) for most US-based carriers.

Verizon ending CDMA is going to be terrible for parts of the Midwest unless they plan to update entire state-wide networks.

You might want to check AT&T (which we are on), it's a little more than your $140 but might be a lot better coverage, depending on your region.

My oldest daughter took 311 photos in a 1 hour trip in the back of the car. Not counting the number of snaps to her friends.
