Pixelmator Pro Mac App Store purchase not showing up on MBP
#1
I have a home Mac Pro 5,1 and an office MacPro 5,1 along with a 2015 MacBook Pro. All are running Mojave 10.14.6.

I have been running Pixemator for years. I saw that they were offering a bundle upgrade on the Mac App Store- finish my bundle. It saved me a little bit of money and in addition to the update to the standard Pixelmator, I also got the new Pixelmator Pro. I bought it. It (Pro) showed up as a purchase on each MacPro and downloaded just fine.

However, when I went to the App Store on the MBP, it doesn't show up as a purchase available to download. It gives me a purchase price of $15 higher than I paid for the complete my bundle version. What? I can't download it on the MBP.

I have always had only my current Apple account. All computers are logged into the same account. But I can't get the Pro no matter what I try. I have restarted in safe mode- no go. One site suggested making a dummy user account using the same Apple Account and see what happens. I did that and in the Apple store on that user account the Pix Pro shows up to download. The sites suggests then login out of the dummy account, deleting it and returning to my regular user account. They swear that will fix the problem. Nope. Still can't get it.

Anyone have any ideas. As far as I can tell, everything else I have purchased from the App Store is available to me on the MBP, but not this one. ?????????????????????

Thanks for any help and suggestions.

Have you tried just copying the app from one of the other machines to the MBP?

Sure sounds like you're not signed into the App Store on the MBP with the right account, or not signed in at all. Can you see your purchases for that account from the MBP and do they show all of the other apps that you've purchased?

I've signed out and signed in multiple times. As far as I can tell all other apps show up as purchased. Really weird.

Maybe there is a limit on how many machines you can install it. Try to delete it from another machine (MP) and see if it shows up on MBP

I took one of the suggestions from GGD and copied the app from the Mac Pro to the MBP. Guess what? It runs fine. Didn't ask me to sign in before the app would activate or anything. It simply launched. Go figure.

That does at least seem to confirm that you really were logged into the app store with the correct account on the MBP.
