Untested, but still counted as positive for the virus
#1
Well, not really, because only a test confirms a diagnosis.

My nephew wasn't tested because, as my sister says, she knew he had the virus. Now-classic symptoms related to fever, loss of smell etc soon after being near a friend who came down with it who had been near his brother and a store customer both with Covid-19.

My nephew is doing better but still not what anyone would call "well." I mean he's functional, and feeling better, and keeps to himself in the basement at my dad's but for an 18 yr old it's a weird existence. Watching lots of TV. They leave him food outside on the patio at the basement door, but he can come upstairs when no one else is home. And he has his own bathroom and fridge downstairs. I suggested to my dad he wear a mask in his own house but it won't happen. I also suggested he leave the house as much as possible and be outdoors.

The Sheriff had come by to serve him notice of quarantine (his friend identified him) and he must report-in online twice daily with an update of his condition. He's apparently past the worst of it last Sat-Sun. So far nothing to report about my sister and dad; they're showing no symptoms.

The graduation party my sis planned to hold at her house next week that she wanted us all to attend has now been canceled, not that we were going anyway.

Best wishes for his recovery.

I'm closer to your dad's than your age. I think I can understand why, despite any possible cost, he wouldn't want to leave his grandson to face this alone.

I hope it turns out well for them.
