Coronavirus Hot Spots: Could The Mid-Atlantic And Northeast See A COVID-19 Rebound?
https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shot...-19-reboun

For weeks the U.S. coronavirus pandemic has largely been driven by spiraling outbreaks in the South and West. But some forecasters say Mid-Atlantic and Northeast states could soon be in deep trouble again, too.

The warning comes from researchers at the PolicyLab at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, which has built a model to provide four-week forecasts for every U.S. county. NPR spoke to David Rubin, PolicyLab's director, an epidemiologist and professor at the University of Pennsylvania. Here are five takeaways:

*The virus is marching up the East Coast
*The current low case numbers are obscuring the looming problem
*The South appears to have reseeded the virus in the North
*Summer travel is making things worse
*As grim as all this sounds, there is still hope.

It’s going to get worse, a lot worse, before it gets better. Bank on it.

Nothing we don’t already know, at least if you’ve been paying attention.

Are we beginning to admit we can’t pretend this isn’t happening?

I am following it. I had no idea the I-95 and coming back from the drive effect was so loaded with hazard.

IMO thats overly specific. Diligence over time is required to keep numbers down. I-95 might speed things up but it would head in this direction eventually. Its a question of how we respond when the numbers rise, which they eventually do.

Japan is also seeing a big increase in numbers in the last week.

80-90,000 protesters marching in a Russian province, Israel, Spain, OZ - it's resurfacing just about everywhere. Expect overwhelmed governments to stop reporting while they look inward and focus on their own survival.
