Do you think the emperor's children will be relevant in future politics?

There is a substantial history of children and siblings of famous politicians running for their offices and the results are mixed. Lots of Kennedys have been elected to congress, and Teddy hung on in the senate for decades, but they were a special case, particularly in the 1960s and early 1970s.

Jerry Brown had name recognition because his father had been governor of California before Reagan, but he was also thoughtful and could make his case on the stump.

On the other hand, lots of other children of the famous (Jesse Unruh for one, and lots of others whose names don't immediately come to mind) failed miserably.

Is the Trump name enough to hold the total allegiance of all those Trump voters out there? I tend to think it would be a mixed result. I also think that Ivanka lacks the brazen nastiness of her father -- she may be nasty, but she would have a hard time matching his stump speeches -- so exposure to the voters would cost her a lot of votes.

So I'd like to think it would be a marginal loss for her.

I think the Trump name is going to be extremely tarnished by the end of 2021. And some of them might even be in jail or self-exiled to tropical islands.

In all likelihood, 45 and Ivanka will need to avoid at least a half-dozen European nations with warrants out for them. Probably 45, Jr. as well.

...Eric and Tiffany seem to have avoided signing much of anything incriminating thus far, presumably because he's too dumb and she's too smart.

As for Don 2 and Ivanka, please name one thing that either has done to indicate any level of intelligence.

Let's be clear: I'm not suggesting that either of them has any greater intelligence than average. And is isn’t hard to (allegedly) do what has been plainly spelled out in the (alleged) protocols; nothing (allegedly) new here. So, looks like average intelligence to me. Either that, or they were satisfied with the tried and true as it takes less work. Tiffany, however, is an unknown. Jr either is dumber than the rest, or smarter in that he wants to “stay under the radar,” but I don’t see much evidence there.

The rallies that had a haunting look to Nazi Germany were enough to turn me away from him (and scare the shit out of me). When he disrespected the military (and dry-humped the flag), he disrespected my country and ALL the people who call this place home. That was more than enough to seal the deal. Not responsible? The CiC is ALWAYS responsible, for both the military and as THE representative for this country. Egging on a mob to storm the bastion of our democratic ideals? As CiC, he should be held to military law and the same standards as the grunt in the field, which would have led to a court martial and potentially time in Leavenworth. As the PotUS he should be held to to the laws of this country and not one iota less. As a private citizen, he should be held to the same rules as any other citizen of this country, again, not one iota less. These acts would have led to a conviction and jail time.

And if all of this adds to a HIGHER standard for him, so be it. Those who lead should be held to a higher standard. He’s failed on so many fronts. If he continues with Republican politics he will splinter the party, as those with a brain and the fortitude to think their way out of a wet paper bag will leave. As most have been leaving, in disgust.

All I can hope for is that the consequences for the actions will be enough to taint all who were involved, and make people take a closer look when the name “Trump” is involved.

Astute analysis. Junior is on my Twitter thread and although he Tweets daily it's never anything original - usually just a one word comment attached to a retweet. He must have his hands full juggling his father's wishes with his addictions and the girlfriend.
