What's a good price for dual-layer DVD blanks?
#1
Finally have a dual layer burner coming my way. It's been over a year since I've bought any DVD blanks and don't know what to expect today.

I've had good luck with supermediastore.com in the past; just browse around there or ... ?

SMStore.com is a great place to buy quantity, retail products, but you're not going to find any bargains there. I found my local Fry's Electronics (Brick and Mortar store) to be a great source of bargain DL media. Last time I bought DL media I found some Memorex 2.4X DL media in 30-packs marked down to $24.99 each, so I grabbed the 4 that were left and have been using them off an on for about 4 months. DVD Media Inspector tests them to be "Ritek" brand DL media, which turns out to be one of the good ones.(tu)

I've had excellent luck with this DL media, having burned more than 100 of them now, all perfect burns using MTR Beta's and DVD2oneX v2.0.6, just to make sure that any deliberate mastering errors get removed before they get burned. So my answer may or may not be helpful depending on your local Fry's, but I plan on going back there later this week to see if I can find some more bargain DL media. Wink

The best prices I've seen in the B&M stores is about $1/disc. I've been using Memorex and have been mostly happy, except that 3 of the last 4 I burned didn't verify. The disc seems to play ok though.
