Ever heard of Nexen tires?
#1
I need some 195 70 14 all season passenger tires for a 1998 Camry. It’s hard to get to a bigger town right now. There’s a tire shop in town that’s been here 40 years and has a pretty good reputation, that sells a Nexen tire in that size for $374 out the door. I haven’t been able to lock in a solid review on google.

They were the factory equipment on my 2018 Kia Soul.
I have about 17K on them now.
I had to replace one when I picked up a nail early on. It couldn’t be patched. Sad

I don't, but my experience with cheap tires is awful, so if you're on a budget, I'd say buy closeout on Tire Rack and use one of their installers. Otherwise, call and ask around for a budget tire. Often the name brand's cheapest is better than the mongrel brand.

They’re pretty good for a lower-end brand. I had them on a 2016 VW GLI. They performed very well indeed.

I’m leery of a name brand’s cheapest. Say when Walmart sells cheap Goodyears, you know Walmart has squeezed the heck out of Goodyear to cut costs (and corners) to reach Walmart’s price point.

I just put a set on our -6-6-6 Accord (2006 6-sp V6 sedan). They’re OK, and cheap. Last set was Michelin, which are objectively still best.

I would definitely look at online options. I have mine sent directly to my mechanic and he installs them.

https://www.tiremart.com/ (they sell used too by thread depth, often those are from new cars whose owners wanted something else)
even look at tires on ebay, many shops sell through them

cross-check the tires you want with Tirerack ratings

you also didn't say what your driving needs are. how much are you driving? paved or dirt? weather (ice, snow, rain?), level or hills? All that can matter. I'm in Florida and only drive my car about 500 miles a month (and that may be high), so I don't need a $250 tire, I buy low mileage used name brands. I'm on some Yokohama's right now that cost me $70 each and had 9/32nds tread depth (new is 11/32). New they were $160 each.

I think I’m probably getting some Hankooks.

Hankooks seem to be decent tires.

The brand I had to pull off of my car was Primewell. Truly awful although they are part of the Firestone family.
